A typography project, using type to illustrate a narrative.
The Picture of Dorian Gray is a tale rich in imagery. The heady scent of roses and lilacs are described in detail and so this design is adorned with hand drawn floral details. The profiles in the negative space tell the rest of the story.
An animation to show the ageing profile.

Initial sketches before undergoing conversion to vector images using Adobe Illustator.
Alternative Design
A typographical design representing the moral degradation of the main character through the disintegration of the letter forms – each letter contains text from pivotal moments of the tale.
